Bomb Syria? NO!

Okay, now there's a story in the news that American diplomats are being evacuated from Lebanon. Why would that be? Because they would be in danger if we attack Syria. There would be no (almost) chance for Syria to ward off the United States. There would be high-flying bombers and/or drones coming at them. They would be basically invisible to Syria. What would they do? Go after real US targets nearby. Like Lebanon. Why stop there? Why not just hurl some weapons at Israel too?

This Syria thing is an incredibly foolish fiasco for the US. Americans don't want it. Obama and Congress are way off base.

Here's something else. What if Syria just decides to commit suicide in the face of an overwhelming force coming their way? What if they just destroy their own nuclear facilities and make sure everyone loses? Supposedly, they've already been killing off their own citizens. They could easily launch attacks in Lebanon and Israel while also contaminating the whole area with radiation from their own nuclear plants.

STAY OUT OF SYRIA!

Let them fight their own battles. Let their own neighbors step in. They all hate us anyway and they'll hate us even more if we get involved.

SYRIA...JUST SAY NO!

Who do we think we are in the United States? How can it possibly be right to attack Syria? Maybe Obama wants to claim one war for himself since he can't really claim Iraq or Afghanistan as his wars. He inherited both of them. Incidentally, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were foolish and based mostly on lies. Supposedly, we attacked Afghanistan because the Taliban didn't turn over Bin Laden (as though they really had a choice in the matter). Then we attacked Iraq just because the wacko Republicans wanted to.

Now...Syria! No way. Let some other country step up for a change. We haven't been victorious in war since WW2...not Korea, not Viet Nam, not Afghanistan, not Iraq and...we won't be in Syria either. Let's stop killing people all over the world.

A brief update...in today's news, Donald Rumsfeld is quoted as saying something like, "Obama has not justified Syria intervention." That is totally crazy! Rumsfeld is one of the key, guilty parties in the illegal, deadly, US fiascos in Afghanistan and Iraq! Does he think we're all idiots? Is he mentally ill or just delusional? If Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld et al are not thrown into prison for their crimes, at least they should keep their mouths shut and slink into the shadows.

Is Obama trying to be a republican? There can be nothing good coming from an attack on Syria. Let those wack-jobs in the Middle-East take care of their own problems. Don't spend a single penny of my tax dollars on this horrible venture.

Okay...while I'm on this particular rant...I want the United States to stop handing out billions of US dollars to other countries (foreign aid). We can't take care of ourselves while we continue to prop up people and governments all over the world. Let them take care of themselves!  Heck's Bells! Isn't it a Republican mantra that a person should not rely on government assistance! Yet both parties seem to think it's okay to continue handing over billions to the rest of the world so they can live off US entitlements. Stop it!

We've proven to be an absolute failure in almost every international venture. What say we look at home? What say we let all those other countries (mostly, who hate us anyway) fend for themselves and let the cards fall where ever they fall. If anyone is a real threat to us...okay..we have the military power to overcome adversity. However, we can't continue fighting invisible enemies in the forests, caves, deserts and mountains of the world. These are all pure folly. Let's tighten our belts and look at our own people for a change, eh?

Here, in the United States, we have seen and heard the rhetoric concerning Syria. It doesn't matter how much is true or false. What does matter is that the citizens of this country (those, our elected officials work for) don't want this country to insinuate itself in Syria. Overwhelmingly!

STAY OUT OF SYRIA! LET'S MAKE THIS A DEFINING MOMENT IN OUR HISTORY WHEN THE UNITED STATES REMEMBERS IT'S A GOVERNMENT BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE...OUR PEOPLE!

Minor, additional update...today's news indicates that Boehner supports Obama in the effort to start a new war in Syria. How can it be so obvious?! If Boehner supports it...it MUST be wrong. What the Hell  happened to Obama? Stay the Hell out of Syria. NO MORE WARS! PLEASE!

Garbage Day, Thanksgiving

Alas! It's the garbage day before Thanksgiving. There's a cold rain with occasional brightening of skies. The flood warnings issued the last few days did not come to fruition. So...including a continual rainfall...things seem to be normal here in Fall City.

I realize there's nothing to report...no major flooding...no drug deals...no home break-ins...no anything at all. Life is good.

My recent house-guest managed to last nearly thirty hours before I had to request his  departure.

Indeed, I've proffered similar offers of to others in other countries but none have yet accepted. (Whew!) All that is required of such house-guests is to maintain a low profile and get along (respect) others.

In any case, garbage day this week seems to be coming and going with nothing but cold rain.

However, since it is Thanksgiving tomorrow, I give thanks to the Ether that the war-mongering, elitist, Republican thieves were not elected over Obama. (Praise the Lord and pass the beer!)

Time is running out. NO Romney!

Last day!

Are people going to vote against themselves due to ignorance or because they’re filthy rich or religious nut-cases…for Romney and the “wacko”. Or…maybe the majority of Americans will snap back to reality and vote for Obama who will work for REAL Americans? I couldn’t believe we elected George Bush (the second)... twice! What is wrong with you people? Romney stands against everything we, Americans, stand for! While he has a wacko VP candidate, he’s wacko, himself.

A vote for Romney is a vote against all that is American. Heaven help us if you idiots vote for Romney.
If you make less than 200K per year, if you're black, hispanic, FEMALE, any minority, if you're retired or close to retirement...SO MANY PEOPLE ( ! ) a vote for Romney is a vote against yourself.
Wake up America! The Republicans are total SLEEZE! They want your money and don't give a single, flying flip about us.
Do the right thing and go out to cast your votes for Obama!
He (Obama) didn't start the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He (Obama) didn't destroy the economy. He (Obama) didn't start the government bailouts of Wall Street. Bush did all that! Wake up!

Wrong-Way-Romney US politics in Fall City

I live in a little house near the end of a dead-end road in Fall City, WA. Very little ever happens here and the bigger news of the world has little effect in my home. However, there’s a presidential election coming up and I’m completely at a loss to understand it. President Obama managed to pass the opening volley in this country for a decent health care system. Granted, it was less than he originally intended but far more than we’ve ever had before. He (President Obama) inherited two wars (Iraq and Afghanistan) from hs predecessor, George Bush. He also inherited a collapsed economy brought on mostly  by the Republicans’ elimination of financial control of Big Business and Wall Street. The initial corporate bailouts were made before Obama took office and he continued with some of those efforts in order to get us all back on our foot. With the wars, he wound down the incredibly stupid war in Iraq and tried to step up the effort in Afghanistan with the idea we might actually win. (That was an ill-fated, foolish move but he had not started the war and it was not his war to begin with!)

Now we have this guy, Romney. He’s a deacon in the Mormon Church. This must be a joke! The Mormon Church seems to be based on such extreme folly that it’s amazing that any intelligent being could grow up, achieve some form of education and NOT realize what a farce Mormonism really is. He’s filthy rich and keeps his money hidden offshore to avoid taxes. He refuses to release his tax returns. He probably has never really WORKED a day in his life! He supports suppression of women’s rights, gay rights, increases in taxes for the poor and middle class, decreases in Social Security benefits, increases in Medicare premiums…etc. He is not American. I want him gone.

Back to me…I collect Social Security and my medical care is covered by Medicare. Romney’s platform would force me to sell my house. He is certainly NOT an American. I want him gone.

Suddenly, politics have reached out to me, personally.

Aside from the political allies, relatives, corporate cronies and all those elites who would gain additional fortunes with a Romney presidency…no one in their right mind should ever cast a ballot for this slime!

What is wrong with Americans?  Are they really that stupid! For the typical voter, a vote for Romney is A VOTE AGAINST YOURSELF1

I do understand that many people are against abortion and gay rights but all those people have to do is take care of their own business. They don’t have to impose their will on the rest of us. Romney pushes for “smaller government”. Is it a smaller government that inserts itself in every household? No.

Having this racist guy, Romney, as President…is un-American….and I just don’t understand how anyone would ever even give the slightest consideration to such a scum-bag for President.

Being old, I’ve lived through many Presidential elections. I confess…I even voted for Nixon once! However, I’ve never been so directly involved! Get the corporate, war-mongering, tax-evading elitists out of there!

That’s how it looks from where I sit here in Fall City. 

Vote down THE DEAL!

I'd rather have the Senate vote down the budget deal. Then, I'd like Obama (for once!) to take a firm, leadership stand and raise the debt ceiling on his own, via invoking the 14th amendment. Let the courts sort it out later. It's a lot better for all (the vast majority) of us than the crappy "compromise" they've agreed to.

Then...let's all work in earnest to maintain control of the Senate and take back the House!

Budget Crisis

Of course, my point of view is limited to what I can see from my little house in Fall City. However, it appears that the Republicans have a particular agenda to enhance the wealth and power of those already wealthy and powerful...at the expense (and without the slightest interest) in the well-being of the masses of middle and lower income citizens of this country. Am I missing something? Isn't it true that Republicans are taking a stand to protect the rich and powerful? Isn't it true that Obama is attempting to protect Social Security and Medicare along with so many other necessities for the masses? What could possibly be the ultimate goal of those republicans? Do they really want to bankrupt the country? Are they really looking for an entirely new American order in which only the wealthy and powerful have anything and the rest of us are just their slaves? This is all so wrong! I paid into Social Security for 47 years. Something is so wrong! Why are we fighting these wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? Isn't it true that they were started by George Bush? Isn't it true that they are both unnecessary and un-winnable anyway? Isn't it true that the fighting in Libya is a NATO-led operation - not an Obama war? Why does the American public forget so easily what's happening? Why does the American public fall for the republican attacks on Obama concerning those conflicts? Isn't it true that the economic downfall was caused by George Bush? Wasn't it Bush who first handed over trillions of our dollars to Wall Street, banks, corporations, insurance companies, etc. Are we all really so stupid? Do we have no memories at all? It's just too much like Animal Farm, isn't it? Personally, I want all the republicans purged from office. I want term limits for the whole bunch of blood-sucking politicians...including the democrats. This is just a gigantic mess we're in and it's all driven by greed and short-sighted, petty politics. That's what I see from my front porch, overlooking the pond and feeling the cool rain of summer here in Fall City.
