Bush

Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder says George W. Bush is "not telling the truth"...didn't we already know that? "We noticed the intellectual reach of the president of the most important nation at the time was exceptionally low,"...didn't we already know that too? There's very little consolation in knowing that history will judge Bush in the most miserable terms. The problem is that we have to continue living with the legacy of his idiotic presidency for years and years. It's not just that he is ultimately responsible for starting two wars and causing death and destruction, needlessly. It's not just that his government (asleep and inept at the helm) experienced 9/11. It's not just that Mr. Bush ran the American economy into the toilet. There's so much more! We'll be paying for the mistakes of a moron and his cadre of self-serving thieves for generations. I feel shame. You? It's an extremely sad state of affairs here...how could that low-life ever become President? How? How? The American voter and the average American must be damn near illiterate, stupid, uneducated and easily manipulated. I laughed my elbows off when I learned he was the chosen candidate for the war-mongers. I thought it would be impossible for such an imbecile to pass muster. Silly me! American voters seem to be even dumber than dumb.

Elections...2010

Once again, the American people have taken a stand where only they can occupy so well. They have voted against themselves and their own best interests by choosing the Republicans and the "Tea Party" group of same. In my state (Washington), the people voted down the income tax initiative which would have improved the taxable status of at least 95% of individuals. They voted down both initiatives to force the state out of the liquor sales business. At the same time, the very same people seem to have been blinded by the Republican mantra of "smaller government", yet they support having the government in the liquor business and they insist the government should decide whether a woman should maintain an unwanted pregnancy. The government will not become smaller no matter what the voters choose. The same number of representatives will still be soaking up taxpayer dollars, the same number of Federal employees will continue to bleed the American taxpayer for retirement and other benefits that are not avaiable to the private sector. American voters are ignorant. They claim the Health Care program initiated by Obama should be repealed. Hells bells! It's taken nearly forever to get anything at all on the books! Leave it there and improve it...not remove it! American voters are a good representation of Americans in general...uneducated, un-informed, biased, bigotted and ignorant. I'm sorry to have been born here. With any good fortune, this setback may just be temporary. It's a good thing to have experinced it at the mid-point of Obama's administration because the pendulum just keeps on swinging...in two years...who knows? I imagine there will be a remarkable improvement in the economy by then and the Corporate, war-mongering Republican liars can be sent packing...again. (One can dream, eh?)

Ellection Day

Election day, 2010, is oddly sunny and clear in the northwest. Four years ago, election day was nothing but flooding in my little town. I made it on the TV news when they filmed me rowing my boat to town in the morning. In the interview, I told them I had to get to town to buy coffee and cigarettes. Later in the day, I rowed to town again and was interviewed by a different news organization. That one, I told I had to get to town to vote. I think that's the one that was aired all across the country. Maybe both were, but it was the "voting" newscast that people saw me in (and recognized me) around the country. I certainly hope that wasn't the entire extent of my personal fifteen minutes of fame!

Religion

I'm thinking...if people were not brainwashed and indoctrinated in varying religious beliefs as children, there would be a lot more peace on Earth. When learning almost all other things in life, it's much later that the information is acquired. There's an opportunity to evaluate data and make sensible choices based on real facts as opposed to having a well-developed mental system of faith based on nothing at all. When illogical, indefensible theories and beliefs are instilled at such a young age, there's a built-in, knee jerk reaction as a result. There's no factual basis for belief in any religion. Think about it? Mormonism? C'mon! All the silly, microscopic differences in Muslim sects? Christians believing in divergent tenets? Jews thinking Christians are just plain wrong? They're all the same. People should be learning about these things after they're old enough to make rational, individual decisions and judgments. There have been far too many wars and conflicts of all kinds based solely on religious stances. The world, with an ever-growing, unsustainable population is split on silly religious lines. That's downright stupid! It should be universally illegal to cram any religious belief in anyone...especially the most susceptible...children. We're all the same and we all should have equal opportunities to achieve success in all areas of life. Religion, and the indoctrination of youth, is the greatest bane to human existence.
