Bush
Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder says George W. Bush is "not telling the truth"...didn't we already know that? "We noticed the intellectual reach of the president of the most important nation at the time was exceptionally low,"...didn't we already know that too? There's very little consolation in knowing that history will judge Bush in the most miserable terms. The problem is that we have to continue living with the legacy of his idiotic presidency for years and years. It's not just that he is ultimately responsible for starting two wars and causing death and destruction, needlessly. It's not just that his government (asleep and inept at the helm) experienced 9/11. It's not just that Mr. Bush ran the American economy into the toilet. There's so much more! We'll be paying for the mistakes of a moron and his cadre of self-serving thieves for generations. I feel shame. You? It's an extremely sad state of affairs here...how could that low-life ever become President? How? How? The American voter and the average American must be damn near illiterate, stupid, uneducated and easily manipulated. I laughed my elbows off when I learned he was the chosen candidate for the war-mongers. I thought it would be impossible for such an imbecile to pass muster. Silly me! American voters seem to be even dumber than dumb.

Elections...2010
Once again, the American people have taken a stand where only they can occupy so well. They have voted against themselves and their own best interests by choosing the Republicans and the "Tea Party" group of same. In my state (Washington), the people voted down the income tax initiative which would have improved the taxable status of at least 95% of individuals. They voted down both initiatives to force the state out of the liquor sales business. At the same time, the very same people seem to have been blinded by the Republican mantra of "smaller government", yet they support having the government in the liquor business and they insist the government should decide whether a woman should maintain an unwanted pregnancy. The government will not become smaller no matter what the voters choose. The same number of representatives will still be soaking up taxpayer dollars, the same number of Federal employees will continue to bleed the American taxpayer for retirement and other benefits that are not avaiable to the private sector. American voters are ignorant. They claim the Health Care program initiated by Obama should be repealed. Hells bells! It's taken nearly forever to get anything at all on the books! Leave it there and improve it...not remove it! American voters are a good representation of Americans in general...uneducated, un-informed, biased, bigotted and ignorant. I'm sorry to have been born here. With any good fortune, this setback may just be temporary. It's a good thing to have experinced it at the mid-point of Obama's administration because the pendulum just keeps on swinging...in two years...who knows? I imagine there will be a remarkable improvement in the economy by then and the Corporate, war-mongering Republican liars can be sent packing...again. (One can dream, eh?)

Ellection Day
Election day, 2010, is oddly sunny and clear in the northwest. Four years ago, election day was nothing but flooding in my little town. I made it on the TV news when they filmed me rowing my boat to town in the morning. In the interview, I told them I had to get to town to buy coffee and cigarettes. Later in the day, I rowed to town again and was interviewed by a different news organization. That one, I told I had to get to town to vote. I think that's the one that was aired all across the country. Maybe both were, but it was the "voting" newscast that people saw me in (and recognized me) around the country. I certainly hope that wasn't the entire extent of my personal fifteen minutes of fame!

Religion
I'm thinking...if people were not brainwashed and indoctrinated in varying religious beliefs as children, there would be a lot more peace on Earth. When learning almost all other things in life, it's much later that the information is acquired. There's an opportunity to evaluate data and make sensible choices based on real facts as opposed to having a well-developed mental system of faith based on nothing at all. When illogical, indefensible theories and beliefs are instilled at such a young age, there's a built-in, knee jerk reaction as a result. There's no factual basis for belief in any religion. Think about it? Mormonism? C'mon! All the silly, microscopic differences in Muslim sects? Christians believing in divergent tenets? Jews thinking Christians are just plain wrong? They're all the same. People should be learning about these things after they're old enough to make rational, individual decisions and judgments. There have been far too many wars and conflicts of all kinds based solely on religious stances. The world, with an ever-growing, unsustainable population is split on silly religious lines. That's downright stupid! It should be universally illegal to cram any religious belief in anyone...especially the most susceptible...children. We're all the same and we all should have equal opportunities to achieve success in all areas of life. Religion, and the indoctrination of youth, is the greatest bane to human existence.

Over-population
There are too many of us humans. With the growing numbers of natural and man-made disasters, there aren't enough people in a position to assist those in need. There are food and water shortages, senseless wars, diseases and a vast population without a care for the plights of others...of course it would be that way. Everyone (aside from the filthy minority of the rich and "entitled") has his or her own personal challenges. We are the scourge of the Earth, it seems, and there appears to be no solution in sight. There are just too many of us for this planet. Woe to us all!

UFOs
Assuming there really are actual sightings of unidentified aircraft, what are they, who (if anyone) is operating them from within or from a remote location, why is there such an official air of secrecy and denial from official sources and what powers these crafts at such a technologically advanced level? There are so many questions and so few concrete answers.
I wonder why so many UFOs seem to have various colors of lights making them so visible. Why would there be any lights at all? Would those be windows and would the color of the lights indicate the color inside the crafts? Would the lights be an indication of the means of propulsion? There is so much I don't understand.
As to the propulsion and the incredible dexterity they seem to employ...the speeds achieved could create enough friction to incinerate a normal airplane. Perhaps they are constructed of nothing but light energy and aren't subject to either friction with the atmosphere or gravity. Perhaps...

The United States...Pitiful
Ugh! Inequality in tax burdens, inequality in military service requirements, inequality in legal decisions, inequality in health care, inequality in education...it goes on and on and on. This country seems to have completely disintegrated (as though it were ever really integrated). It's pitiful and shameful. Money runs everything. It's all about money. Of the leaders...it seems they're all corrupt, seeking power (money), personal glory and (did I say) money. They seem to all be dishonest, portraying themselves however they must in order to secure the votes of the ignorant populace. After being elected, the entire effort is geared to being re-elected. Thieves, all of them! Liars! It's time for real change...not politcal, rhetorical change...real change. It's time to revamp this country before it falls into iniquity with the rest of "civilizations" that existed for the benefit of a select few at the top.
With two political parties having differences so far apart that there can never be any real compromise on any relevant issues, it's a hopeless situation. Each party continues to contact its own members with scare tactics and negative information. What a total waste of effort! They're both preaching to already-believing choirs and having no effect or input among the opposing camps. Finding a middle ground and working together is the impossible requirement to alleviate the ills of this country...but it just won't happen. We're in a death spiral, I suspect.

Gravity
My initial comments about gravity...it (gravity) is a pressing force, not a pulling force. For this to be true, all the unknown "material" of space, whether one calls it dark matter, or dark energy or something else (like ether), must be the source of gravity. It must be what holds everything together, from the smallest sub-atomic particles to stars, planets and all other material in our universe. To consider gravity as a pressing force means that all the matter with which we're familiar probably just wandered into an already-occupied area and has been acted upon by this "dark matter" for all these eons. Our universe would have to be held within its bounds by something outside and there would likely be countless other universes such as ours. Considering that, there would be greater pressure at the leading edge than the trailing edge of Earth...since we would be plowing through "something" rather than through empty space. There is...greater pressure at the Earth's leading edge. My own simple experiments, conducted daily for six months, indicate .6% to 1.1% greater gravity at the leading edge of Earth.

Washington State Income Tax
It's a challenge, getting ramped up for this blogging effort. The rains have already been increasing and the winter looks bleak. I fear I'll have to head out to Nordstrom or REI to gear up for the upcoming, miserable winter. My boat is at the ready for use in flood-escape work. I do need to stock up on firewood, water, food and wine for the inevitable, lengthy isolation from floods and/or snow, wind etc.
In the meantime, there's an election looming. Here in Washington, I have the feeling that keeping Patty Murray in the Senate is job number one. Well...it's really job number two. More important would be to have an overwhelming acceptance of the sales-tax initiative on the ballot. That's the only fair way to tax us overburdened citizens and garner additional income for the state.
At the same time, I believe the state has been failing miserably with K-12 education. It is mandated in the state's constitution as the highest priority. Along with educating children, the state is mandated to fund education for teachers' colleges and trade schools. That's it! All of that comes ahead of all other educational expenses such as other colleges and universities. Students attending colleges and universities are NOT children. They are adults and the expense of their higher education should not be borne by taxpayers, unless they happen to be attending teachers' colleges or trade schools.
I would like Governor Gregoire to take an active, public stand in favor of establishing a state income tax.

Fall City Floods
In Fall City, life revolves around floods and wondering what goes on in the world outside these confines. As such, I intend to provide my own views, as developed in this narrow slice of the world. In addition, I intend to offer several, additional, unrelated asides. One concerns my own, unique theory of the nature of gravity, especially in context with the rest of our universe. Another is more closely related to my own little corner of the world. I've been accumulating a series of "Flood Stories" for which I'm still in the process of creating imagery. When complete, I hope to peddle these printed wares through this site in an attempt to offset the time and money I've already spent in the process. Additionally, I sing. I intend to peddle my own recordings through this site as well. For those willing to put up $10 to $15 in advance to receive copies of my "Flood Stories", let me know. Currently, it's a graphic novel with eleven stories, numerous "cartooned" images and numbering about 116 pages. I do color and I do printing. It's a high-quality effort!
